Uncommon Charter High School has been in business since 2009. The second class of seniors has just graduated in 2014. The scholarship application was opened until February 29, 2016, in which one applicant would be chosen by March 31st for $5,000 for him or her to apply towards a four-year college degree program. The students were thrilled with the simplicity of sending the applications to Mr. Mann through email. In 2013, when Mann first established the scholarship, he set up a meeting to go down to the high school to meet with the students. He said he had a wonderful time sitting in on the Crown Heights charter high school class and talking with the students. Many of them were eager to start planning for their college education. Keith Mann went further than make donations to the school, he also set up a workshop to help the students learn about resume writing.
